I had a much needed scrap night with my friend Adele on Friday. I finished four layouts. Yay!
I created this layout for challenge 127 at CSI scrap blog. I solved the case by using the sketch and colors provided. My evidence is using bottle caps, string, a transportation image, and a pair of something. My testimony is not suspended on a string but has something suspended from it.
This one worked out well for the Peter Pan challenge over at Child's play.
This is just a simple layout with some old preschool stuff I found.
This one was a lot of fun to make and looks so fun.

More Child's Play
Vacationing at Grandma's with no kids is good for the scrappy mojo. I got two more layouts done for Child's Play Challenges.
The book challenge this month was Curious George. I was inspired by the yellow color of the books and the curiosity.
The next challenge was the craft challenge of origami. My boys love to make paper airplanes. We found out state capitol is a great place to fly them.
Paper used on this one is Teresa Collins Freestyle.

Back to scrappin'
Forgive the sideways picture. I'm lucky I figured out how to post from my phone and Kindle. This layout was for two challenges: The November stack-a-holic challenge at DCWV and one of the classic toy challenge over at Child's Play Challenge blog.

Costume Cuties
I am finally finishing up last years Halloween photos. This layout was done using the Sketchy Thursdays 10-6 sketch and the 1 hour challenge from Club CK to hand make embellishments. I quilled the ghost, bat, and spider on the layout.

Indians
A couple of years ago we had the kids make Indian vests and headdresses after Thanksgiving dinner. It kept them entertained for awhile, and they looked cute wearing them. This layout is based on the week 3 Sassy Lil Sketches sketch for September.
I turned it into a 2-pager.

Lots of scrappin'
I spent a great 6 hours at Adele's house last night scrappin' and talking. I managed to get 3 single page layouts and a double page layout done.
Sketchy Thursdays partnered with ScrapFit this week for their layout challenge. ScrapFit's workout prompt is F is for Friendship. Here is the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:
And here is my layout:
E always loved Todd from the day they met. They were best buds and Todd was always very gentle with E. The quote on the layout reads: "Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only True Friends will leave footprints in your heart."

Sketch it To Me challenge
My friends from Club CK had a Sketch It To Me Blog Hop over the weekend. Amanda created this sketch to be used:
I had more pictures to use, so I turned it into a 2-page layout.

My soul Delighteth
The color challenge at Club CK this month is orange, pink and brown. I knew I had the perfect paper for this challenge that I picked up a few years ago at the Sassafrass Warehouse sale, but I couldn't find any pictures to go with it. I finally decided on photos of the bluejays at my grandparent's cabin last year and then realized the August week 1 sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches would work great. This whole layout came together pretty quickly after that.
I was pondering a title, when the scripture from D&C 25:12 popped into my mind. "For my soul delighteth in the song of my heart, yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me.
Here's the sketch I used:

The Cabin
Grandma and Grandpa's cabin is one of my favorite places. I took some photos last fall when I was there and have been waiting for the time to scrap them. The sketch from Frosted Designs was my inspiration, but the layout took on a life of it's own.
Here's the sketch:

Club CK Valentine's Day Blog Hop
Welcome to stop number 14 in the Club CK V Day Blog Hop. You should have come from Traci's blog. If you are just joining the blog hop or if you get lost on the way, go back to Amanda's blog.
I have to preface this post by saying this idea is not mine. The idea and instructions came from a lady named Stacy that was part of the now closed Paper Popsicles store/MB.
My project today is a super cute Valentine's mailbox. The great thing about this mailbox is, you should have everything you need to make it on hand.
Supply List:
1-2 boxes-A large cereal box or a regular cereal box and an additional box (such as a graham cracker box)
*I used a Costco sized Wheat Thins box in the photos, but it makes a tiny mailbox
*The boxes must be flexible, not stiff cardboard!
Patterned paper-2-3 sheets
Scissors or craft knife
Mod Podge or other adhesive
Embellishments-flowers, ribbon, brads, etc.
optional....2 magnets or ribbon and a hole punch
1. Pull apart your cereal box along the seam.
2. Cut down one of the seams so you still have flaps on three sides.
3. If there are any extra flaps, trim those off
4. Make several slits along the longest side up to the fold.
5. Bend your box and glue the flaps down on another part of your box as shown. Hold or secure until dry. I used blue painters tape to help hold it together.

6. Trim around the sides and back, leaving the flap on the front. You can use this flap to create your door. *Remember it doesn’t have to be perfect…you are going to cover it all up with paper and embellishments.
7. On extra box, trace around the front and back of the box then cut out the pieces.
8. Glue the back piece in place. Hold or weight it in place until it dries. Trim if needed.
9. Glue the front piece in place. Hold or weight it in place until it dries. Trim if needed.
10. Cover your mailbox with patterned paper and embellish as desired. Cover your raw edges with ribbon, flowers, etc. You can even add a little flag attached with a brad!
11. To create a closure, you can use two magnets or tie ribbon through two holes. Or be creative and come up with a different way! I used a ribbon loop on the door and a button on top. The red mailbox, we used a clip-on name badge holder with the pull string.
I hope you have fun creating your own mailboxes! Now it's off to Cassie's blog.
Be sure to go back to Amanda's blog and let her know which project inspired you the most so you can be entered for the grand prize drawing.
